Have you ever wondered what the hair colour numbers mean? The first number of a Hair Colour is how Light or Dark the Brown hair dye will be, for example brown shades range from 4, Deep Brown to 6, Light Brown. The second number is the reflect which can be Natural (.0), Warm (.3, .4, .5, .6) or Cool (.1, .2). For example, 4.0 is a Natural Deep Brown, 4.15 is an Icy Chestnut. Always check the back of pack to see if it is the right shade for you.

How to dye your hair at home with Garnier Color Sensation vivids permanent hair dye: Always do a patch test 48 hours in advance of using any home hair dye products. Please always refer to the product for full safety instructions. Top tips for home hair dye: Use an old towel as permanent hair dye may stain it. Apply moisturising cream to your hairline to avoid staining from the permanent hair dye. Hair dye can only lighten your natural hair colour 1 to 2 levels – check the back of pack to see if it is the right hair colour shade for you. If you have long or thick hair, use two hair dye boxes. 1. Start by putting on gloves and mix the colour cream and developer bottle into a non-metallic bowl. 2. Apply the mix in sections, starting with your roots and working through to the ends 3. Leave to develop for 30-35 minutes, as stated on the instructions, depending on the result you wish to achieve. 4. Rinse until the water runs clear and apply the rose oil conditioner and rinse again.

OK, so I was using Olia 4.15 iced chocolate for years but it is getting more & more expensive so I thought I’d try something else. I didn’t have much confidence in either shade or quality of this product at 1st..i chose 4.15 icy chestnut..but wow! I’m so impressed! It is super close, if not identical, in shade to the olia I was using. I have very thick, long hair that is bum length so 2 packs needed & my hair grows really quickly so have to touch up my roots every 2 weeks to re-cover the greys ..The colour has absolutely no smell, either on application or afterwards. The dye is really thick – so no drips, running or mess. It absolutely has covered every single grey, unlike the olia (when I say grey, it is white) The conditioner smells lovely too. My hair is so soft & incredibly shiny. Since I started colouring my hair, some 26 yrs ago, (I’m now 47) this is by far the best product I’ve ever used! (in my opinion) There’s nothing negative I can say about this product. It does everything I could want in an at home hair dye. I really love it! I’ve enclosed photos of my hair length.. my grey, (but not all of it) how it looks in natural light and also how it looks under artificial light.

First time I tried this dye and Really liked it. Was pleasantly surprised with the smell had a nice sweet scent to it. Didn’t cause any irritation or itching at all. Covered greys nicely though I left it for a good 40 minutes as my greys are stubborn. It covered my roots. If I was to do all my hair I think would need two boxes as my hair is long and thick. Conditioner that comes with it smells lovely. Mid brown colour that’s nice I would buy this again.

Not bad but I have had better,not alot in the box so if you have alot of hair you would need two boxes,covered the gery but not as dark as the rest of your hair.

Love this colour, Luminous brown. The conditioner smells lovely and the product covered my hair well and made it shine. Much cheaper than in the Supermarkets.

Bottles didn’t contain much at all. My hair is just below shoulder length but very fine. I needed two bottles and there was nothing left.Good consistency for spreading without dripping everywhere. Smell wasn’t overpowering.I did scuff my worktop with my glove slightly. Noticed and wiped it right away but it still stained! The staining on my skin is also crazy despite me taking precautions and wiping away as I went.100% grey coverage and greys are same colour as the rest. But… its so much darker than I expected. Nearly black. I really hope it fades a bit. I’ll use this brand again but will go for lighter brown in future.Update: two washes in and it’s faded to a mid/ dark brown. Shine hasn’t dulled though.

I wouldn’t recommend this item. My hair was bleached blonde and upon reading what could achieve as in that nice white grey look I went for it.Anyway put on for 35 minutes. It did feel like it was burning a little bit but did calm down and I was also worried as I heard like a sizzling noise at one stage and was tempted to wash it out sooner.Anyway it came out a colour I can’t quite distinguish..like a dirty mousey colour, to me it’s sort of grey, blonde, white..like the colour of dirty snow with a little bit of mud and pee mushed in all together is only way I can describe it as which doesnt sound nice. There is also no way this can do a full head if yoj have long hair you would need two to 3. .I have short hair and it just about covered it. There is no brush to do it with lucky I had one or mixing plastic tub.I did follow the instructions to a T however the box I received the product in was one just like many other people’s on here who have mentioned in the reviews that it arrived crushed and also upon other people’s pictures, I can’t tell if the contents were all there in my box…mine had a sachet as one item and in pictures can see some had a bottle.Another issue is the instructions are sooooo small I couldn’t read it and it’s in so many languages and whilst that’s ok, I personally struggled to find the one for me so I had to take a picture of each section then read it from the picture I took which is not ideal at all. Why make the text that small that you can’t reas..my vision is great so know its not that I simply couldn’t see it.Anyway the only positve was that I was happy that my hair didn’t fall out but that was it really. The coverage of it works well for very short hair but even with that I would recommend someone helps you cover the back otherwise it would end up patchy.I would not purchase again based on the results and also upon how I received the item.
Great holder. You can either pop one with lead in but found it can actually hold 2 if you really need to. Great protection. –
Great colour, nice smell and really lovely shine. The only downside is, the colour doesn’t last long on any greys at all.
